Concrete Core Drilling

We provide a complete range of concrete core drilling services for all required holes. Our core drilling rigs are designed to drill any concrete, brick or masonry surfaces. Our Diamond core bits ranging widely in diameter and can be drilled to any depth.

Diamond core drills can be used for many applications this could be used where the core needs to be preserved for sample tests of the concrete or simply to create a hole for plumbing or electrical wires, or pipe work for a number of different services such as phone lines, barrier installation, pit works, drainage and fire prevention equipment. all our diamond core drill bits are used and is cooled with running water to eliminate dust we can also control the slurry with our suction ring vacuums to minimise mess in a sensitive spot that requires a core hole.

Made from diamond segments these bits allow us to cut through many materials including metal.
These drills can drill holes in floors, walls, roofs or angles, along with providing the maximum versatility required in almost all building projects.

Hydraulic/High-Frequency Core Drilling: A hydraulic or High Frequency mechanically driven drill used for larger holes (above 500mm in diameter) and under water and inverted drilling. Inverted drilling is used for applications when access from above is restricted. This hydraulic or high frequency core drilling can be carried out in the form of concrete, brick work, limestone, bitumen or any masonry core drilling. It can be carried out on an angle, plumb or level, above and below ground. Some main applications include roofs, ceilings, walls, bridges, tunnels, road surfaces and in recounting cables/pipes/wires.

Concrete Track Wall Sawing

Wall sawing operates with circular blade mounted on a track. With precision, our wall saws provide customers accurate and clean results.

How it works?
The track is attached to walls or steep incline floor or walls that will not permit the use of road saws. Concrete Wall sawing units are driven by 3-phase electric power pack and can cut up to 700mm thick concrete.

Wall sawing provides horizontal and vertical cuts for concrete walls, blocks, or bricks or floors. It makes clean openings for windows, doors, and duct openings and precision flush-cutting methods according to your specifications. Should you require precision wall sawing services or just need to make new openings in those hard-to-reach places Hard Core Cut has the manpower and skills to complete a timely and efficient task.

Concrete Wire Sawing

What is wire sawing?
Originating in Europe, now become a safe, fast, and cost-efficient option when needing to cut through thick, large, irregular concrete blocks and walls.

Wire saws are a great versatile solution for complex jobs where other cutting methods are not practical and run much quieter than other concrete saws.

How does it work?
Wire saws use a multi-strand cable system with diamond beads attached. As the cable (wire) feeds through a sequence of pulleys, rotated by the hydraulic or electric powered saw, the wire is wrapped around the cutting object.

As the wire rotates, it easily cuts through the concrete while keeping tension on the wire flushed by free-flowing water. The excess wire is then stored onto another series of pulleys and stacking within a looping system.

This type of concrete sawing allows you to cut through any thickness of concrete and even allows you to cut through heavily reinforced concrete.
It is used to cut through reinforced concrete such as:

  • Piers
  • Towers
  • Pillars
  • Beams

The wire saw is also able to cut through load-bearing objects without getting caught mid-cut, as other blades can. It can also be used for cutting concrete underwater.

Wire saws can be used for vertical and horizontal angled cutting and can even be used to cut circular openings.

Concrete Hand Sawing

Concrete Hand Sawing is available as Petrol, hydraulic and high-frequency electric 15amp/3-phase sawing. The hand saw can be used to cut concrete walls or floors and can cut up to 150mm deep. A hand saw works great for cutting superficial or surface cuts on walls. This kind of saw is highly portable. Concrete Hand Sawing makes the perfect choice when cutting is needed in small, tight, and inaccessible areas.

It is an ideal tool for small cuts or big jobs from joints to floor cut-outs, at a depth of 150mm.

Typical uses for this type of sawing may include

  • Sawing concrete pipe to length
  • Cutting outdoors or windows
  • Precision trimming
  • Creating openings for electrical, plumbing or other needs in concrete/ brick and cinder structures in beam pockets
  • Demolition purposes
  • Cutting through walls, ceilings
  • Air-conditioning penetrations

Hand sawing is a highly versatile kind of sawing concrete.

Hydraulic/high-frequency electric Sawing is usually a special application. It does not produce any fumes, thus making it a perfect choice for indoor or confined spaces with a lack of ventilation.

Hydraulic or high-frequency electric Hand Sawing This kind of sawing is used where there is limited access with insufficient room including confined spaces. Few scenarios where a hydraulic or high frequency hand saw is the most preferred tool for cutting include pool surroundings and inside slabs. Leaving no emissions within the job area. A hydraulic or high frequency hand saw can cut to a depth of 150mm. It is an excellent option when there is no proper ventilation and where release of fumes can be hazardous.

Concrete Ring Sawing

Concrete Ring sawing is similar to that of hand sawing but is capable of cutting up to much deeper depths due to the substitution of the rotary blade to a ring blade powered by the motor using rollers to rotate the ring diamond blade allowing the blade to enter concrete at total blade depth of 270mm or 330mm depth. Ring saws are commonly used for smaller-scale jobs due to their increased mobility. Ring saws are petrol-powered and fumeless, which is beneficial when working in confined areas that may not be well ventilated. We operate all Ring Saws including petrol, hydraulic, and electric high-frequency ring saw.

Ring Sawing is used for

  • Double brick walls
  • Staircases
  • Door and window openings
  • Concrete footings
  • In applications where cutting concrete or brick that is thicker with a max depth of 300mm

Ring saw concrete cutting is carried out in a highly-controlled manner with absolutely no dust in the process using a wet blade to control the dust.

Hydraulic Ring Sawing

Hydraulic ring saw with 270mm cut depth, running off a power pack.

The hydraulic ring saw is compact and maneuverable which makes it suitable for a wide variety of applications, it’s ideal for working indoors due to no exhaust fumes and low noise levels.

Thanks to the peripheral drive it is able to cut far deeper than a traditional power cutter – able to cut through a thick wall from one side only.

Running a hydraulic cutter means there are no fumes or high noise level emissions – so they are ideal for both indoor and outdoor jobs.

High Frequency Ring Sawing

An electric high-frequency ring saw made with a 405mm blade capacity enabling 300mm cutting depth.

It can cut deep with no over-cutting and no core holes whilst leaving a precision square cut edge. Again, ideal for double brick walls, door and window openings. The saw runs off electricity and is fume-less and useful for confined spaces.

Our high-frequency concrete ring saw has the option of a single or 3 phase operation.

Concrete Road Sawing

Road sawing is an essential part and fast option for cuts on Roads and concrete slabs with depths up to 600mm

Road sawing can operate as petrol, diesel, or 3 phase electric powered. It is used to cut surfaces such as expansion joints, bridge decks, pavements, concrete slabs, and asphalt roads, for drainage, concrete cut for removal, clean concrete edges, or cables and electrical wiring purposes.

This type of sawing is also known as flat sawing and is the most identified diamond cutting method. Slab sawing features a diamond blade that is mounted on a walk-behind machine.

Slab sawing is a quick and efficient means of cutting any concrete. It is not only quick and precise but is also the best way to cut concrete. In addition, it can be used to cut through stone and brick as well.

Also, 3 phase electric-powered saw cutting concrete works great for sensitive projects. A Diesel-charged road saw is the best way to cut concrete for greater depths.

Concrete Soff Cut/ Expansion Cutting

Soff Cut concrete cutting is used when expansion cuts are needed within 2 – 8 hours of finishing concrete.

With the Soff Cut Ultra Early Entry method, control joints are cut within one to two hours of the finishing process and before final set. Depending on the concretes timely curing process, Soff-Cutting is the best and most accurate form to cut segment joints, controlled joints, expansion joints to avoid line cracking or chipping.

This system minimises chipping and random cracking, with thin, precious lines.

Our equipment can cut to any depth on any surface that is flush including walls, floors, and roadways and is well-suited to areas where access by larger machinery is limited.

Our concrete chainsaws which contain a diamond-impregnated chain are used for cutting through concrete, reinforced concrete, brick, stone, and many other types of masonry to a maximum depth of 410 mm and are ideal for cutting through load-bearing walls and creating doorways, windows, and other openings. Concrete chainsaws are also ideal for providing overcut-free corners in wall and floor penetrations and have excellent maneuverability – making them perfect for cutting in tight spaces or close up against 90-degree corners.

Hydraulic & High-Frequency Sawing

Suitable for a wide variety of indoor and outdoor applications where ventilation or noise are a consideration.

Superior cutting efficiency

Finish your project in half the time and at a reasonable price. Ideal for flush cutting, large-scale trenching, window and wall penetrations/openings

Hydraulic saws are compact, fume-free, low-noise and maneuverable which makes them suitable for a wide variety of indoor and outdoor applications where ventilation or noise are a consideration.

Our hydraulic saws use a petrol power pack which can be located away from the actual cutting location.

The high-frequency saw is renowned for superior cutting efficiency. Ideal for flush cutting and internal applications, such as large-scale trenching, and window and wall penetrations/openings, our high-frequency saws use electricity rather than petrol making them 100% fume-free.

Concrete Floor & Wall Chasing

This is a useful method for cutting neat channels in concrete or masonry structures generally for electrical cabling or plumbing pipes that need to be recessed in the walls. A dust collection unit can be attached which collects the dust whilst cutting. This makes it ideal for numerous commercial, retail and industrial applications.

This quick method is suitable for all types of masonry and reinforced concrete, in walls, floors or ceilings.

The channels can be cut to a depth of up to 50mm using a twin blade chase cutter. Depths of up to 50mm can be achieved using a single blade chase cutter with dust extraction.

Concrete chasing means to cut neat channels in walls or floors using a grinder with a diamond blade. Generally, two slots are cut to then make the space wider using a drill. We use an attached vacuum that removes any dust as the job is done so the workspace remains free of excessive dust floating through the air. We perform concrete chasing to make room for pipes, conduit and other slender piping and remove bows in a wall or trim a wall back to up to 50mm depth. We can also perform chasing in bricks and blocks.

There are many benefits of concrete floors and wall chasing. These can include

  • Cleanliness – Using modern techniques, chasing is usually far less dusty and messy than other methods. This is especially true when an attached vacuum is used.
  • No water – This is a technique that can be done dry so you won’t have to worry about the potential for mess when using water.
  • Precision – cut with extreme precision for a neater finished product and a more secure fit for the pipes or wiring conduit later.
  • Appearance – Concrete chasing can be done in a way to create decorative sections that increase the aesthetic appeal of the area.

Slurry Control & Wet Vac

The Slurry is formed from the water that is used to cool either the blade or the drill bit it contains calcium carbonate and ground-up rock in suspension and therefore not allowed in the sewer, stormwater, or natural water drains.

We provide environmental concrete slurry control units to control, clean up, and disposal without allowing it to enter the drains. arapet walls: bridge & foundation walls.

This method is compulsory in order to comply with EPA specifications.

This process is widely used on Council roads & footpath works, RMS, etc. Where the slurry needs to be collected and not allowed to flow into the drainage systems.

Pressure Water & Generator Power Supply & HIRE

The cutting of concrete process requires water to cool the blade or the drill and allow the machine and operator to cut in an efficient and timely manner. This involves a continuous flow of water for the successful operation.

Where water is not available a pressurised water cart can be provided to the client.

Generator supply is also needed at a location where power is unavailable.

Concrete Sawing Sydney

We have a comprehensive range of floor saws to suit all our customer needs.

These include small and large diesel/petrol and electrically powered machines. The diesel/petrol driven machines allow for a cutting depth of up to 600mm. depending on the application, the correct machine will be used for the required depth of cutting.

This is the usual method for cutting roads, whether asphalt or concrete, warehouse floors, runways and expansion joints.

Electric saws can be used as an alternative to diesel units where restrictions apply; for instance, where the fumes from conventional petrol saws are unsafe to the operators or warehouses where food is stored or prepared.

Electric saws can cut to a depth of 700mm. depending on the application, the correct machine will be used for the required depth of cutting.

Asphalt Sawing & Cutting

Asphalt deterioration typically begins in smaller areas damaged by water or other outside factors and can quickly spread throughout your pavement. Watching for and repairing these areas early can save you a much more costly repair or entire pavement replacement later.

Cutting asphalt requires a unique blade that is different than one you would use to cut other surfaces such as concrete, marble, or granite. Because asphalt is softer, it requires a diamond blade with a hard bond. Other soft-bonded blades are not effective on asphalt pavement cutting.

With a diamond asphalt cutting blade, the exposed edge is worn away as it cuts through the asphalt. Wear on the blade exposes a new layer of grit, resulting in unabated cutting. Hard blades release grit easily while cutting asphalt. Asphalt cutting blades come in both wet and dry varieties. A dry blade has a softer bond than a wet asphalt cutting blade. Wet blades require water to cool and lubricate a cut while pavement cutting.

Cutting asphalt is always necessary for asphalt replacement and frequently required for asphalt repairs that involve cutting away deteriorating pieces of asphalt to fill potholes. When cutting asphalt to complete a repair job, you’ll need to have the appropriate pavement cutting tool, as well as the materials and equipment to fill cracks and asphalt equipment for repairing potholes.
